Hello! My name is Grace O'Brien, designer and owner of Pretty Snappy Designs. I have had a love for fashion design since I was 8 years old. It started with my wonderful grandmother's help designing and sewing doll clothes.
That early creativity and innovation stayed with me throughout the years. I attended the University of Vermont majoring in fashion design and merchandising. I fell madly in love, married and had three wonderful children before I knew it! While I took pride in my primary job as a mother and wife at home, I also dabbled in many professional endeavors. I have been an interior decorator and consultant for residential homes and commercial properties, a fashion consultant for Laura Ashley, a designer for Vermont Teddy Bear Company, and a designer of children's clothes for upscale boutiques in the New York / Connecticut area.
During those busy years I grew into what I like to refer to as the "Domestic Goddess." I have taken pride in preparing extravagant meals for my family and have decorated and redecorated every corner of my house. Now that my children are older, I have more time to follow my own personal dream.
I often create handmade gifts for my daughters for the holidays and this past year I made a kitchen apron with a snap-on towel and matching gloves. I am always looking for a towel to wipe my hands on while cooking and thought this was a great idea. My daughters loved the aprons and encouraged me to make more. The support and encouragement of my family and friends has lead me to pursue my dream of starting my own business, Pretty Snappy Designs.
